And to be fair, they were...for a time. Then they fell apart because someone rose up and started beating them plus the alliance wasn't as all-powerful as everyone thought.
But there was another Alliance that was perceived as invincible too. It went by the name of CRONOS. But eventually, corporations teamed up, persisted, and wore them down. Now CRONOS is no more, and neither is one of the most successful corporations to ever play in PC, Seraphim initiative.
Around the same time a well-known corp (considered one of the best) by the name of Pink Fluffy Bounty Hunters, coming off their high from winning the Open Beta tournament and recruiting some good players, decided to go after Hellstorm. Well it turns out they weren't as good as everyone thought either because they fell apart a short time later as well.
Riding the wave of publicity for dismantling the Tournament winners, Hellstorm flexed its muscle. But even Hellstorm fell after they formed LoI, picked up a ton of great players and went to war with EoN. Sure, they're still around, but even Hellstorm has to admit they're a shadow of their former selves.
The point is, everyone thinks so-and-so is invincible and never going to lose...until they do. EoN is strong and stable, but it isn't as if for the rest of Dust 514's life, no one ever has a chance to dethrone us. Keep in mind all of the above has happened within the past 3-4 months.
And yes, it was a cool story.

I see you Eon guys falling apart due to boredom of being in a big ole empire. Not to say you guys won't get beaten by an up-and-coming alliance but I just can't really see what alliance will rise up...I mean each time we had people who were already established before the big groups came in.
Eon, Pink Fluffy Bunnies, STB, Cronos, Zion TCD, Orion Empire, and all of the other corps I'm forgetting were pretty established before they became top-tier killers. The only group that is still a major threat, and no offense to them, to Eon IS Eon. >.> Mark my words...It'll end up like that if a major alliance doesn't come soon. |

That's always a concern for every alliance (and corporation), especially the bigger it gets. Maybe internal strife will be what brings EoN down. Maybe it will be an outside force. Who knows? That's sort of the point. Everyone says OP now, but in a month we may be saying the exact same thing about the alliance Top Men or Public Disorder because we've seen people say this exact same thing before, multiple times, all recently. The Bunnies only lost a handful of matches to Hellstorm. What really killed them was the in-fighting (at least that's what it looked like from the outside). Outer Heaven looked to be in trouble when the Anti-EoN coalition first started to attack because apparently there were a lot of people within the corp on both sides of the fence who wanted to either support EoN or attack them (despite the fact that they had been in EoN for several weeks by that point). I still think the Imps stopped playing/mostly disbanded because of arguments within the corp as well, despite what anyone else would say. Some claim SI was the same, and that Sha raged and drove people away. The list goes on. And it doesn't just include single corporations. Remember when PHI left ROFL? That was big news for those of us that knew PHI had a major hand in creating ROFL in the first place, and was one of its more impressive powers. It's said they left on good terms, which I'm sure is true, but that doesn't mean it wasn't internal problems that drove them away. PD and Top Men might make some balence, Darkstar, MSF, and others are also around in the shadows.
I don't think PD will take the initiative and do so...After all you guys at least had some good terms but that's none of my business. Top Men? Again not to sound like an A-hole but I've barely read/heard about them. Maybe they will be the ones...idk. I kinda wanna see an alliance just pop-up and start doing stuff.
Also MSF isn't an alliance or is big enough for an alliance and them attacking would mean that they would have to be NOT neutral which is what they're against. |

Your alliance is in the same boat I was rather lazy to not include you and wrote MSF down well after not paying attention There needs to be many balancing forces not one mega group of doom, the problem in dust was that there's always 1or 2 groups and one destroys the other and/or themselves
o-o Of course my alliance is in the same boat. General Tso's has never been truly competitive. It was good for our beginning phase but I feel it's time to move on...It's less of a coalition than the FSC was during it's hay day. @_@ I just don't know what alliance to move on to. |
